“Mrs First_Name Last_Name under penalty of losing,

DO NOT IGNORE THIS NOTICE!

INTERNATIONAL AUTHORIZATION AWARDED TO LISTED RESIDENT OF THE USA

“Mrs First_Name Last_Name has been named as a possible future recipient of a cash award in the Mega Millions Lottery by the officials at MBA. Further action by Mrs First_Name Last_Name is necessary at this time to continue the advance toward a future win.

POSSIBLE $12,000,000.00

“Dear Mrs First_Name Last_Name

“In an advance screening of lottery players in the USA, you have been named as a possible candidate for the Top Prize of $12,000,000.00. This is an important milestone for you.

“Please do not ignore this notice of your recent designation! If you do not act now you may not win that Top Prize -- and that could cost you a great deal of money.

Red Flag  # 2  “The MBA has already taken the liberty of determining the numbers within the winning range for the up and coming Mega Millions Lottery draws. Some of those numbers were printed on the inclosed Winning Numbers Statement -- but I had to cover them over.

“At this point, I am not allowed to reveal those numbers to you because our administration office does not yet have your paperwork on file. And that is why I am writing to you today.

“You see, Mrs First_Name Last_Name, we need you to complete, sign and return your Requisition Form before we can release those winning-range numbers.

Please remember, the quotations above and below are from the SCAM letter of “MBA” _not_ by mailscamalert.com.

Red Flag  # 3 And you should do exactly that very quickly because the lottery draws are already scheduled and failure to provide us with the proper paperwork will definite result in your not being provided with your important numbers from MBA.

“I understand that there are many things that demand your time -- but how important will as much as $12,000,000.00 be to you? I have taken the time to write to you because I want you to truly understand what a life-changing event these winning-range numbers could bring about. And they are ready for you now.

“Even though you have been selected for this offer, you must respond promptly. As you well know, the numbers chosen as winners in the lottery change all the time... and I’m not sure how long the numbers in question will be available.

“So, it is in your best interest to claim them while you can. I will do my best to ensure that the numbers you receive will be potential winners.

Red Flag  # 4  “Actually, I will offer you my personal Guarantee of success. If you do not win in the Mega Millions which offers a guaranteed minimum $12,000,000.00 first prize with the use of the numbers MBA provides within 90 ninety days of their arrival, we will refund your administration fee when requested.

“So, you see, there is absolutely no reason to delay. You are promised winning-range numbers... and are promised success through my Guarantee. You should definitely contact us now.

“Fill out your Winning Numbers Requisition Form, making sure you sign it, and enclose it in the supplied reply envelope with your administration fee. Then mail the envelope to us at MBA.

“I will tell our customer representative to look for your Form and get your winning- range numbers to you immediately.

Below is the “fine print” in the image above.

“Client Information “Winning Range Numbers” refers to those limited set of numbers which, by regulation, must be used to play the lottery. In addition, we select numbers using our special computer program which most commonly appear in winning combinations which we describe as being in the “Winning Range.” While all numbers in theory give you an equal chance of winning, we offer you the opportunity of using those numbers which have most commonly won in the past.

“This opportunity and these Winning Range Numbers will not remain active indefinitely and may be withdrawn by MBA at any time. In order to ensure that you are entered in the next available lottery with your Winning Range Numbers you must act now.

Red Flag  # 1  Often companies use the initials of their name, especially if it is a long name,ie; "GE" instead of “General Electric” or “GMC” instead of “General Motors Corporation”. But somewhere on the ad you’ll likely find the full name. Not with “MBA”. Absolutely no where in the SCAM letter, nor the materials in it, is the name listed as anything other than those three letters. From the postmarks, it could be that the “A” is for “Australia”. On the other hand, the reply envelope uses a New Zealand address.

Again, from words used in the multiple letters I’ve received, the “M” could be short for “Millions” and the “B” for “Billions”. The letters seem to fluctuate between prises of “Millions” and “Billions”. In the long run, it probably matters little since any correspondence with them will likely be for naught. In the last four years, I’ve yet to hear that any of these SCAMs have replied to any messages. Not even a ‘thank you’ when they steal your money! (return to # 1 Red Flag above)

Red Flag  # 2  So, you didn’t enter any lottery in Australia, but this company wants to send you a list of winning numbers...for $20, of course. Remind me, again, how you would be legally able to collect any prise money since it is illegal to enter foreign lotteries. Secondly, how would this company know the winning numbers even before the lottery announces them? Maybe that deserves its own red flag? (return to # 2 Red Flag above)

Red Flag  # 3  This is the standard SCAM method of trying to get you to act before thinking! Research and delay is the enemy of every SCAMmer! They know they are more likely to be discovered as crooks if you start asking questions about them! (return to # 3 Red Flag above)

Red Flag  # 4  No offense, Mr. Hargrove, but sincerely doubt that your “personal guarantee” is of any use. Frankly, I seriously doubt there is even anyone by that name at “MBA”. This ‘guarantee’ is not even worth the SCAM letter that includes it. (return to # 4 Red Flag above)

Red Flag  # 5  Please note the ’small print’ that is on the duly signed and realistic looking “$12,000,000.00 check“. Next to the “MBA” logo there are the following words: “Official Simulated Bankers Check”. I have no idea what “Official Simulated” legally means! Seems this SCAM uses terms like ‘official’ fairly loosely and has little respect for legalities, anyway! Beware of any check they ever send you! Expect them to ask you to deposit it and send them another fee for more lottery entries. STOP! Don't allow this SCAM to get that far! Simply throw this letter in the trash! (return to # 5 Red Flag above)
